My favorite thing is encouraging other women. And today, I set out to pay forward the support I’ve gotten over the years from those who’ve gone before me. But as usual, I’m the one taking notes…. I feel changed after spending time with my guest, Amanda Sanfilippo. She will speak from the heart about struggles with her adopted daughter and doubts with God. (Don’t think for a minute this episode is just about adoption; it’s for you whether you feel led to adopt or not.)
There’s nothing like having a good support system to help you say “Yes” when the Lord asks you to do something- LIKE adopting a child or starting a new job or staying home or serving in the military or joining a recovery group or working in the nursery at church or practicing stillness before Him….
If you see a piece of furniture you like on my instagram this week, email today’s guest at email@example.com or contact her through her fb page; Grafted Branch Creations.
Remember to pause to remember Pearl Harbor Day (Dec. 7th) Pray for the families who lost their loved ones- who were brave enough to say yes- on the shores of Hawaii 76 years ago. And pray for the WWII vets still with us.
Next week, for our 50th episode, we have, as our guest, yet another woman who said “Yes” to God. Mary Beth Chapman, President and Cofounder of Showhope, is coming in to chat with us about life, loss and love.
The Bible study Amanda mentioned is Celebration of Discipline by Richard Foster. http://amzn.to/2iR9yke
The Listening Program is one tool that has helped her daughter from a hard place immensely. (Amanda says it helps her too!)
The verse Amanda referred to (the one she heard from Holy Spirit when she was doubting God’s goodness) is Jeremiah 31:3
“The Lord appeared to me (Israel) from ages past, saying, “I have loved you with an everlasting love; Therefore with lovingkindness I have drawn you and continued My faithfulness to you.”
