Do you ever feel like God is distant? Or silent? One thing makes connection with God palpable and the Cross more real. Our guest will tell us about that today. We’ll also talk about keeping an eternal perspective no matter what life brings.
This is part 2 of Bonnie Keen’s interview. Bonnie is not only “Big Sis” to countless young women in our sweet Nashville town, she is smart as a whip, a well read, DEEP thinker. Her heart for social responsibility is convicting to me.
You know how I’m always talking about the importance of confronting the person who hurt you? To keep accounts short? Well, today, Bonnie talks about when it’s ok to NOT go to the other person. I had just been reading about this so it’s quite a confirmation to hear it again today from someone I respect and love so much.
In my commentary before the interview part, I reflect on the previous episode, where Bonnie talks about singing a pop song “Downtown” in a youth group worship service and I will share my own embarrassing “Did I really sing THAT in church??? “ moment. (Don’t judge… I really did not know better…. I was young…… God knew my heart. But OH, my!! It’s a doozie!!!! :-0)
Here are some links for you to look up later when you’re not driving-

(OH DEAR again!!!)
The scripture verse I refer to in the pre interview commentary is Romans 8:18
“For I consider [from the standpoint of faith] that the sufferings of the present life are not worthy to be compared with the glory that is about to be revealed to us and in us!”
And the one I refer to in the post interview commentary is Galatians 6:14
“But far be it from me to boast [in anything or anyone], except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ.”
The review I read on today’s show is from Blessedroots77 and when she refers to the “Empowered to Connect” episodes, she’s talking about the ShowHope/Terri Coley interview- Episodes 29 and 30. Check those out if you have adopted kids, biological kids, are married or single or know any humans anywhere.
Congratulations to Felicia Buchanan for winning the frother contest. Felicia, I will be shipping this brand new shiny Aeroccino machine to your door!
Bonnie’s charity of choice is Mercymultiplied.com (formerly Mercy Ministries.) Consider how you might help them push back the darkness this Christmas as they reach young women in crisis.
If you’ve had a chance to listen to a few episodes and ya like what ya hear, share your favorite one and please take a minute and leave us a good review? People really do read those. And we love hearing from you. 🙂
Just some little ways for you to live out love!
Till next time,
