I’ve so enjoyed listening back to this interview with my good friend, Gordon Kennedy. I’m sure you’re getting a lot out of it too. Today, he’s going to give you an up close and personal look into the wild and crazy music business and you’ll hear him share a vision he was given which depicts life as a line of dominoes. He’s learned to be all in with the task before him, holding his plans with an open hand and explains how this helps him to not miss the moments with the ones who matter most in life.
I so wish I had this perspective as a young wife/mom. I’ll tell you some of my biggest regrets and fails in this episode. (And more importantly, that God is still in the redemption/restoration business!)
As Gordon relays a piece of advice he heard from one of his many mentors, I can’t help but feel a little relieved- hope you feel a little exhale in your chest too- hearing that all you’re called to do is follow God’s lead for the next right step. Again, you’ll hear a theme that relationships are key in life. And he’s learned how to use the platform he’s been given to speak well of The Name, conveying a deeper, eternally significant message.
Today, I’ll challenge you to consider the question, “What’s your thang?” and to speak well of The Name as you go…..
In this episode, I’ll play you snippets from my favorite rock album “Heel” by the awesome band, Dogs of Peace. (You will LOVE this record!!!) http://amzn.to/2AmGvwg
I’m also going to play more from my favorite blue-eyed-soul/bluegrass artist, Ricky Skaggs. He sings “Can’t Shake Jesus” which was cowritten by Phil Madiera and today’s guest, Gordon Kennedy, for a labor of love called “Mosaic.”
“Mosaic” while not considered a huge commercial success, was a critically acclaimed, Grammy nominated work of beauty. Experience it here; http://amzn.to/2mPhnbm
Gordon’s charities of choice are:
https://www.heimerdingerfoundation.com/ helps cancer patients with delicious organic meals.
http://brightstone.org/ helps adults with special needs find purpose and meaning in life.
https://www.alivehospice.org/ They take the fear out of the end of life journey.
And as promised, here’s a video showing you how to leave a review so Blair has something to read on the mic! :-0)
