Do you have a person in your life that would not be filed in the “Easy Forgive” category? Living down here on this fallen planet can be painful. And your “Hard Forgive” file might be expanding with time… but today’s guest, Stacy Elliot, offers us an adage that infuses hope into our disappointment with the state of human depravity, as we know it;
“The fact that we are capable of doing such heinous evil means we are also capable of doing marvelous good.” (That’s my friend Stacy; ever the optimistic realist.) She is a community leader who fights for survivors of human trafficking through https://www.endslaverytn.org
Stacy was the first one I called after finding out that my daughter’s old orphanage closed down because of their involvement in a trafficking ring that spanned all across India. I called Stacy because she is a faithful, listening friend, first. She is also fiercely passionate- she fights with heart for the disenfranchised of our day here in my second homeland, Tennessee. 🙂 I knew she could help me wrap my brain around what happened and more importantly, help me to have compassion on the perpetrators. Stacy names the source of that kind of compassion for us – which supplies it for us with ANY hard forgive person we’re dealing with…..
Since the recording of this interview, Stacy’s mom was diagnosed with breast cancer, so please hold her family in your heart as you listen to her speak on parenting, marriage, having evil thoughts, what motivates her to stay on task and the magic otherworldly experience of partnering with someone creatively on a project.
