Today, I get to read part of my very first review on itunes!!! WOO HOOOEY! So fun! I challenge you to leave good reviews for podcasts you listen to regularly because it’s important to convey the need for gospel centered, biblical messages in Podcast Land. I share my desire to encourage other messengers to take up space out here!
My dear friend and mentor of many years is with me today- Dian Belbeck.- to talk about studying the Bible, singing in operettas, leaving a legacy, playing tricks on her little cousins, learning piano and how it’s still one of the things that draws everyone together in her community.
Dian, (who’s mentored half the sky in my town) talks about the woman who helped shape her own character. You will hear where Dian picked up her diabolical sense of humor. This woman has taught me how to laugh at life like the woman from Proverbs 31. (as well as the 2 knuckleheads in the outtakes. J)
In this Part 1 of Dian’s interview, Dian describes what it’s like to live with her daughter, Jessica, her son in law, Philip and 5 of the grandkids. She’ll tell you about her 3 little grands who live just across town. Dian’s son Josh and his wife Abby took in Abby’s sister Ariel and her family of four when they moved back to town.
This extended family has learned to share the space with such grace. How do they do it? Honest communication has been key. You’ll hear humility in Dian’s voice and an openness that is attractive.
I share that my husband’s highlight of the Christmas season for years has been spending the day cooking with the girls- Dian and her daughter Jess- they became Pioneer Women long before Pioneer Woman was ever Pioneer Woman. Nothing ever from a box; everything from scratch.
In Part 2, Dian talks about her adventures in Africa and hosting leaders from Africa. You won’t believe all God is doing there through her friend, Rosemary Khamati and the organizations she founded called PEACE.
