Ep 3-Kim Camp “That Moment In Which You Both Forgive”

Kim Camp
Kim Camp

Today, you’ll hear two old friends apologize to each other for stuff that happened many moons ago. My friend Kim Camp is here and we talk about a relational quiz she took on our website- If you haven’t taken the quiz, hop on over-heylovepodcast.com- and let us know- we’ll get that right out to you. All in fun. It’s short. And free!

If you’ve ever felt lost, wondering if you’d ever find your place in this world, I share why and how I can relate to you. AND how God answered a simple, ignorant, raw prayer for guidance.

Kim and I reminisce about that  “Godcidental” meeting somewhere in the Lone Star state and our subsequent 30 year friendship. We still argue about which town it was we met in to this day! (You may hear a very sneaky host whispering into the mic, a subliminal message, while Kim’s talking about this….Ya gotta listen close….) I share how the Lord led me to her, on a whim and a prayer.

We talk about the difference between salvation and sanctification. Also, we discuss the beauty of solitude and how that is very different from isolation; how diving in to community requires trust in God. She also expounds on her obsession with shoes and how she had to have a separate vehicle to carry her collection when she left for college!  I didn’t make Indian chai today because Kim has always been big on drinking water. She’s a health coach and it is difficult to believe she’s a grandma. As much as she’s always longed for blue eyes, she no longer wears blue eye shadow- which we all did in the 70’s- I’ll let her tell you why.

Our Gang
Our gang. Go ahead and make all the big hair comments you want. Look, it was the late 80’s MAN!!!!

We’ve been experimenting with different mics while recording and a few minutes in, it sounded like I had punched my guest in the face, like a scene from an old campy western movie, when actually, I had just hit my mic by accident.  (You can hear that in the outtakes.)

What’s Your Limp?

Offering a soul hammock for you, the reflective American woman, as you move to the steady rhythm of God’s unfailing grace, as you navigate your RELATIONSHIPS & heal from past hurts. Any sort of hurt, habit or hangup can cause a “limp” which affects our RELATIONSHIPS with our Maker, with others and with our selves.

What does your limp look like? Mine looks like Lyme (and codependency too.) Here on this show, we’ll have honest conversations about how to courageously cultivate real community & find relational restoration, even with our respective limps.
