Ep 77- “You Are Not Defined By This”- Cindy Hamilton
Welcome to Season 6 of the podcast! We have some fun things planned for you through the spring- conversations with more wonderful women you may know and love from here in our sweet Nashville town; Lindsey Watson Hays, Jenny Watson, Lauren HuYoung, and some “unknown, up and coming artists”- Ricky Skaggs, Steve Taylor, Garth Brooks…Maybe one day, these poor guys will find their niche. :0) hahahaha!!!
I’m so excited!!!
Today, you and I will get a big dash of transcendent hope from a woman who does not let her cancer diagnosis define her. Cindy Hamilton has this easy breezy way about her and manages to ooze joy regardless of her circumstances. I’ll confess and explain to you why I’ve always wanted to trip people who appeared happy but now that I’ve learned to embrace my Enneagram 4-ness, how I am SO thankful to have “shiny happy” others in my life. :-0)
Cindy and I do talk about our respective life altering health issues, but honestly, I don’t know when I’ve ever laughed so hard conducting (or editing) an interview. (Be sure to listen through the very end so you can laugh at the outtakes too.) Cindy has lots of recommendations of tv shows and movies that will keep you laughing. I realize real quick, how clueless I am every time she makes a suggestion because I haven’t heard of any of them.
We also discuss a few blessings that come with being on the receiving end of help, and ponder how coming face to face with your mortality affects your relationships.
I’ll also update you on some GREAT news that Cindy recently received from her doctor.
Today, I refer to my 4Restore Plan, https://karthimasters.com/podcast/ep-75-4restore/, which isn’t just for those of us who deal with physical ailments…. it’s for anyone well acquainted with the human condition at all. I’ll give you an idea to help you start building a community around you now.
If you know someone who will be encouraged by today’s show, please pass it on to them? and come on back next week- we’ll get to hear from Shannon Millard; she’ll have some fun insights on the love story you and I loved in last year’s blockbuster film “I Can Only Imagine.” Thanks for joining me today :-0)
