I’m happy to introduce you to my friend, the stupendously prolific Crystal Paine of moneysavingmom.com! This woman has always been wise beyond her years- she started blogging when she was 23!
Her website http://moneysavingmom.com
is a treasure trove of information about all sorts of things from organizing a home to managing finances to couponing to recipes to productivity, biblical womanhood to parenting and marriage…
Today’s episode is chock full of goodness and humor and intentionality – but you have to promise not to laugh because it seems some fool interviewer forgot to turn on her mic! (Yet another example of my fabulous podcasting expertise!!!) This is why I’ll be jumping in to re-ask my questions. (so professional, I know!) I’ve listened to this interview a dozen times and I know you’ll get a lot out it- so hang on Baby! It’s worth it.
You’ll hear Crystal’s great insight about prioritizing the ones in your life you are willing to disappoint- because the fact of the matter is, “everybody’s gonna disappoint somebody.” She’ll talk about allowing the Word of God to really penetrate her in the core of her being, how that transformed her and set her free from the need to please other people. And she gives real practical advice to those of us who crave the “warm hug” of walking into a clean kitchen every morning. If that piques your interest, take this online course, written and hosted by Crystal- “Make Over Your Mornings”
I get tickled listening to Crystal talking about her experience with critics. She actually seems lighthearted about it, which is SO refreshing to a recovering “approval whore” like me. Stay tuned for the outtakes where you’ll get to hear just how lighthearted she is-(it’s just bits of her interview where she’s laughing with abandon… We had so much fun splicing those together.) And I’m inspired as she describes her need to write. If you find you “can’t not write” like Crystal (and also like your host,) you will appreciate the steps she lays out for keeping her priorities straight as she writes out her passions and not letting too many voices take up space in her mind and heart. She makes it clear that there are a few people she’s not willing to disappoint, like she is others.
My friend, take to heart what the Spirit of God says about you more than what others say about you.
