My friend, Eric Hoffman is our guest on this week’s episode. He will be telling us about the workbook he put together called, “Becoming a Whole Hearted Disciple” and it has helped dozens, if not hundreds, in our church discover what it means to keep in step with the often forgotten, overlooked, most misunderstood Person of the Holy Trinity.
Also, he lays out how the Holy Spirit brings unity to the Body of Christ because as we all know, these things tend to play out in our relationships. 🙂
Eric started researching and studying everything he could get his hands on about the Holy Spirit’s role after he experienced deep spiritual transformation himself, which subsequently transformed his relationships.
And his Bible study was born.
From my own experience, I would liken his highly interactive workbook to about 10 years of intensive counseling and Celebrate Recovery and spiritual direction all rolled into one year long experience. This study must be processed in a group setting because, as Eric says, transformative discipleship requires engaging with God’s Word, with God’s Spirit and with God’s people. (In other words, ya ain’t gettin’ nowhere on yo own!) We need each other.
We’ll make sure to let you know when Eric’s work gets published so you can start a group in your church.
On another note, I’m pretty sure I won the prize this Christmas for Best Present! As I get older, it’s really so much more fun to be on the giving side. I loved watching Blair’s reaction as he was opening up his gift. I talk about that at the top of this week’s episode.
When I’m tuned in to the Spirit, I can see God’s redemptive Hand in every thing. Even a Dr. Seuss book! Where do you see the Spirit at work in your relationships? Write in and let me know. firstname.lastname@example.org
